The Pokémon Café in Tokyo is a one of a kind Pokémon themed café. It is located on the 5th floor of the Takashimaya department store, combined with a Pokémon Center. Here you will be able to buy all the Pokémon items you have ever wanted. The café has a broad menu with all dishes linked to characters of the franchise. The café is on the left side after you walk into the ‘Pokémon Area’ of the building. There might be a line for the people who had a reservation, just wait in line with the reservation number ready and you will be guided to your table soon. Upon entering you will receive a sticker with a Pokémon on it.
When you sit down at your table you will be told you are able to take your placemat home as a souvenir. If you order a drink you will also receive a coaster that you are able to keep. You will get a random one by picking a Pikachu on the iPad, then a Pokémon name will show up and you will receive the coaster with that Pokémon on it.
You need to make a reservation for eating at the Pokémon Café. This can be done at the website of the place. Especially in holiday seasons you need to be in time with making a reservation. Every day at 18:00 (Japan time) a new spot opens op for the next month. Reservation is possible for 30 days in advance. Without a reservation you might not be able to enter the café.
In the café you are able to buy limited ‘Pokémon Café’ items. These items are only available in the café itself and not in the Pokémon Centers.
The best way to get to the Pokémon Café is to get off at Nihombashi Station. After exiting the station, you will see the Nihombashi Takashimaya department store. The café is located in the east-part of the building. You are able to walk to the east building and from here take the escalators, stairs or elevators upstairs. One of the elevators will bring you exactly to the Pokémon Café. You will have to take the elevator to the 5th floor.
