Narita Airport is a common gateway to Japan. Narita Airport can be considered to be quite far from the city center of Tokyo and taxis will cost you a bomb if you are travelling by yourself.

Bus/ The Access Narita

After you land, head over to the bus stop and you can pay when you get on. This easy and convenient bus takes you to Tokyo station or Ginza station, and will cost you a thousand yen and will get you there in about an hour. You can board from any terminals and you will pay ¥1,000. You can pay with IC cards such as Suica or Pasmo.

Terminal 3; bus stop no.2

Note that another bus may depart from the same bus stop. Wait until the blue colored bus comes.

How to pay

Pay ¥1,000 by cash or IC card (Suica or Pasmo) when you ride on.
¥500 for kids aged 6 to 12.

Able to get off at
Tokyo Station and Ginza Station

Return bus is also available at the same costs and with the same convenience. You can get on at Tokyo Station from bus stop number seven, or you can board at Sukiyabashi crossing in Ginza.

Bus / Tokyo Shuttle by Keisei Bus

Reserve the seat by up to two days before and you’ll get the cheapest way of going to Tokyo. You can book online or from the airport bus ticket counter. The ticket costs ¥1,000. If you buy ahead of time, you can get a discount of 100 yen. A round trip ticket is also available costing ¥1,900 at only Narita Airport ticket counter. It takes about an hour from the airport to the city.

Bus / Airport Limousine

Imagine that your suitcase is way too heavy and you don’t want to carry around. But you need to check in your hotel first. You can get on the Airport Limousine instead. It will take you directly to major hotels and train stations in Tokyo. You can get your ticket the online or through phone booking.

Train / Keisei Skyliner

The best way for you if you want to get to your destination quickly. It will take you only 36 minutes but costs ¥2,470 (¥1,240 of train fare plus ¥1,230 of Skyliner fare.) Skyliner stops at Nippori Station and Ueno Station. Buy a ticket at Skyliner ticket machine or counter  or online (reserved seats only.)

Train / JR Narita Express

Narita Express stops at multiple stops: Tokyo Station, Shinagawa, Shibuya, Shinjuku and Yokohama directly. All seats are reserved so you need to buy the ticket counter of JR station.
