Looking for a booming metropolis? Then look no further than Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon as it was known before. This city moves at super speed and is bustling so leap in and explore back street cafes serving fantastic Vietnamese coffee or grab a stool at a street-side bar for cheap beer.

Ben Thanh Market

Have a delicious local breakfast at the Ben Thanh Market before you shop around. This market is a great place to buy local handicrafts, Vietnamese art and other souvenirs. Its a massive compound, so it can be difficult to navigate around at times. The best time to visit is in the morning before it gets too hot.

Loving the sounds and smells of the chaotic Ben Thanh Market in Saigon! We’ve been looking forward to Vietnam (and it’s food!!) for some time and are very happy to finally be here. Fresh and delicious fruits and vegetables, small stalls with delicacies we would never get at home, having to haggle to get the best price for purchases…we love it all. An amazing way to spend a morning and start our 2 weeks in Vietnam. • • • • • #hochiminhcity #saigon #benthanhmarket #vietnamlife #explorevietnam #vietnamtravel #vietnammarkets #topasiaphotos #seasiatravel #travelgram #lovetotravel #vietnamstyle #simplyadventure #openmyworld #mytinyatlas #beautifuldestinations #letsgoeverywhere #lifewelltraveled #discoverearth #welivetoexplore #momentslikethese #travelcouple #wewanderasia #staycurious #almostfearlesscouple #girlborntravel #sheisnotlost #thetravelwomen #ladiesgoneglobal #girlslovetravel

Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral

After breakfast, you should do a city tour on foot and head to the Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral. Built in the late 1880s by French colonists, this cathedral measure almost 60 metres in height. The cathedral’s distinctive neo-Romanesque features include the all-red brick façade, stained glass windows, two bell towers containing six bronze bells that still ring to this day, and a peaceful garden setting in the middle of downtown Ho Chi Minh City.

Saigon Central Post Office

Located just beside the cathedral, the Saigon Central Post Office was designed by Alfred Foulhoux and features arched windows and wooden shutters, just as it would have in its heyday in the late 19th century. It’s definitely worth a visit to see one of the grandest post offices in ASEAN.

2/12 Saigon Central Post Office. . * The building was constructed in 1886-1891 and depicts classic elements of Gothic, Renaissance and French colonial design. It is a wonderful place to marvel at extraordinary colonial architecture. The city has maintained this exquisite building and it is still in full operation. 🇷🇺 * Здание главпочтамта, построенное в 1886-1891 годах – это яркий образец французского колониального наследия того времени. Городу удалось сохранить здание в прекрасном состоянии. В то же время это действующее современное почтовое отделение. . . . . #vaory #saigonbyvaory #việtnam #saigon #sàigòn #saigonphotography #saigonphotographer #hcmc #saigonbynight #saigoncity #saigonlife #wearesaigoneer #photography #sightsofsaigon #saigontravel #somewhereinsaigon #saigoncenter #vietnamhistory #saigonpostoffice #saigoncentralpostoffice #хошимин #nikon
